On the 2nd page of the Ecowaste Price List ("Disposal Rates"), the following statements appear under "Permitted Materials at Richmond Landfill":
- "Other restrictions may apply, for example, on size of materials. For further information on acceptable materials please contact our gatehouse at 604-277-1410 ..."
- "Stumps having a root ball dimension (not trunk diameter) in excess of 1 metre are not acceptable. Concrete having a dimension in excess of 1 metre is not acceptable"
By way of clarification, the following specific restrictions apply to other materials:
- Dimension lumber, poles, pilings and the like shall not have any dimension in excess of 3 metres.
- Sections of docks, decks and similar fabrications shall not be greater than 1.5 metres by 3 metres x 30 cm thick.
The decision of Ecowaste's Site Superintendent or Acting Site Superintendent shall be final. If you have any questions we recommend you call the gatehouse in advance.
These restrictions on dimensions have been in place for many years and have previously been conveyed verbally to our customers. They are necessary to ensure the efficient and safe functioning of the landfill including obtaining optimum compaction and the avoidance of conditions which could contribute to an incidence or propagation of fires.
