Select Wood

Effective June 15, 2000, Ecowaste will be accepting select wood loads. Loads may come from "transfer stations" or from the demolition of buildings or structures. Loads must be a minimum of 80% wood. Soft materials such as plastics and carpet may not exceed 2% of the total volume of the load. The loads should only contain a minimum amount of heavy materials such as concrete or brick. Hog fuel or sawdust must be limited to a maximum of 20% of the load. Coarse ground wood is acceptable without restriction. Recyclable materials such as cardboard and metals must be removed. Materials which are not permitted at the Richmond Landfill such as gypsum, putrescibles, asbestos or Special Wastes shall not be present in the loads. Any wood which contains chemical preservatives, pentachlorophenols, creosote or the like will not be accepted. The minimum load size is 30 cubic yards.

Effective August 1, 2000, our price for Select Wood Loads will be $8.00 per cubic yard (GST included) based on the nominal size of the container as determined by our gate attendant. This price is eligible for a discount under Ecowaste's "Volume Incentive Plan".

Ecowaste may wish to limit the amount of material received per day, and we may impose additional restraints such as limited hours during which material of this type is accepted, or a maximum number of loads per company which we will accept per day. The acceptance of this type of material is for a specific area of our site. Ecowaste may discontinue this rate at any time.
