Richmond Landfill Operating Plan
Printing the Operating Plan
The Operating Plan has been prepared from the outset as a "Web Document", so that it is easily available to those requiring information about Ecowaste's operation. As well, hyperlinks provide ready access to other information on Ecowaste's website or on the WWW.
If you wish to print out a copy of the Operating Plan, it is necessary to print out each section. It is best to do this from the Table of Contents page, and print out the Table of Contents, as well as each hyperlink given in the Table of Contents. This will provide a complete printed copy of the Operating Plan, including all figures and drawings. You may also want to print out the Title Page. The Operating Plan uses only two fonts, Arial and Times New Roman which are standard on most computers. To view and print some of the pages, you will require a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Individual sections of the Operating Plan may contain hyperlinks to other sections of the Ecowaste Home Page, or links to other documents on the WWW, and you may not wish to print out these pages. Some of them, such as Provincial Acts and Regulations, are huge documents, and do not print well.
In creating printed copies, we have found that of the browsers we tested (Netscape 3.0 and Internet Explorer 4.0), Internet Explorer provides the best output, as it seems to use the graphic information in a much better way. (see Note below) We used the following settings in preparing printed copies:
| Property | Internet Explorer 4.0 | Netscape 3.0 | ||||||||||||||
| Header | &b&w&b | Document Title | ||||||||||||||
| Footer | (no footer) | |||||||||||||||
| Margins |
|
|||||||||||||||
Note re: printing: These comments apply to Netscape 3.0 and Internet Explorer 4.0 only, other versions of these browsers may exhibit different properties. In printing this document using the two most popular browsers, we found that Netscape appears to print graphics using "screen resolution", while Internet Explorer appears to use information from the graphic file itself, and makes use of "printer resolution". Graphics which are unreadable on the screen and unreadable when printed with Netscape, print quite well using Internet Explorer. (In most cases, the HTML code scales the graphic files for display). Netscape does allow full size viewing of the image by right clicking on the graphic and selecting "View Image".
Hint: Particularly if you are using a colour
printer, and you wish to have the hyperlinks displayed in a constant way in the printed
copy, follow the following steps:
Internet Explorer 4.0 - from the menu choose View, Internet Options and Clear History on
the General tab.
Netscape 3.0 - from the menu choose Options, General Preferences and Expire Now on the
Appearance tab.
